  • US Navy Cutlass M1860 - Gold

Since 1860, the US Navy Cutlass M1860 Gold has been produced for the American armed forces at sea – just in time for the American Civil War! It replaces model M1841, and was inspired by the French Navy saber. The curved blade typical of sabers has a wide fuller that ends at the same place the broad back does – the spot where the false edge starts. Its blade geometry gives the US Navy Cutlass M1860 Gold a relatively light weight, but it was also made to be slightly top-heavy to give cuts more power. Held in place by a riveted pommel and the 24 K gold-plated full knuckle bow at the hand guard, the wooden grip of this naval cutlass is covered in leather and wrapped with twisted, golden wire. The US Navy Cutlass M1860 Gold comes with a matching leather scabbard with belt loop and a cloth bag for transport and storage.

  • US Navy Cutlass M1860

Starting in 1860, US Navy M1860 cutlasses were manufactured for the US Navy in Chicopee, MA. They continued to be used after the Civil War broke out. Our replica has the marks you would expect to see on an original: "USN DR 1862" and "AMESMFGCO CHICOPEE MASS" to show that the cutlass is military issue and who manufactured it. Heavily influenced by the sabre used by the French navy, our US Navy Cutlass M1860 is a replica of the model that replaced the M1841. The slightly curved blade has a wide fuller that ends in the area of the point where the broad backstops and the false edge begins. The blade geometry of the M1860 makes it extraordinarily light. Held in place by a riveted pommel and the full knuckle bow at the hand guard, the wooden grip of this naval cutlass is covered in leather and wrapped with twisted, golden wire. It includes a leather scabbard with a frog for holding the scabbard.

  • Confederate Sabre

Our Confederate saber would have been primarily used by soldiers riding for famous generals like Jeb Stuart, Wade Hampton and Nathan Bedford Forrest. They taught the Yankees the meaning of fear. This Confederate saber is lightweight (approx. 1 kg) and manageable. The back is relatively broad up to the center of percussion (CoP), which makes the blade extremely stable. And the fuller, which also stops at the CoP, is responsible for the reduced weight and resulting manageability. The blade curves more acutely as it nears the point, which magnifies the saber's cutting power. An accurate reproduction of a historical weapon (s. William Albaugh, "Confederate Edged Weapons", p. 137), the hand guard, the pommel, and even the wire wrapped around the brown leather that covers the grip are made of brass.

  • Yankee Officer's Sabre 1860

    1 Review(s)

This fine reproduction saber is a faithful copy of ones used. The hand forged blade is British military spec steel that will flex over 20° and return to true. The leather handle is wire wrapped. The brass, 3-branch guard is nicely hand chased and engraved, as is the brass pommel. Blade is beautifully etched with “U.S.,” and “E Pluribus Unum,” along with foliage and military trophies. Steel scabbard has brass throat, rings and drag. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts.

  • US Cavalry Sabre M1906

Please be aware that this image has been flipped. This is a right-handed sword and the guard will sit on the outside of the right hand.

Mounted soldiers played a central role in the military history of the United States: From the American Revolutionary War (1775 - 1783) up to the American Civil War (1861 - 1865) mobile and powerful riders were a central part of US troops. The US Cavalry sabre M1906 comes from the time a few years before the First World War - just before the cavalry was largely superseded by mechanized units such as tanks, trucks and air force. Its design combines centuries of experience in forging swords with the simple beauty of advanced steel forging.

  • Nashville Plow Works Cavalry Sabre

This fine sabre has a 1065 high carbon steel blade with full tang and is well tempered. Grip is black leather wrapped and twisted brass wire. A rare chance to own a unique piece of US wartime history. An authentic replica of the highest calibre. Prior to the Civil War Messrs. Sharp & Hamilton operated a farming implement company under the trade name of Nashville Plow Works. With the war looming, the owners converted their establishment into an armoury. The Nashville Plow Works continued operations until April 1, 1862, when the city was taken by Federal troops. This sword has a cast brass guard, with both CSA and Nashville Plow Works also cast in block letters on the underside of the guard. The pommel and back strap are of one piece and of brass. The scabbard is blackened steel with brass mounts. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts.

  • American Revolutionary War Sabre

Dated to around 1775, the prototype for this handsome sabre is pictured in "Swords & Blades of the American Revolution," a book by George C. Neumann that is very popular with collectors and sword fans. The single-edged, subtly curved blade has two fullers. A narrow, deep fuller almost runs along the entire length of the blade. The other one is shorter, shallower, and much wider. Because of them, this amazing saber weighs less than one kilogram. Nevertheless, our American Revolutionary War sabre is perfectly balanced for delivering mighty cuts: like most powerful cutting weapons, it is slightly top-heavy. The spiraling wooden grip is comfortable and easy to control, and the knuckle bow provides added hand protection.

  • Russian Shashka Cossack Sabre

The unique Shashka (or Shashqua) cavalry sabre has its roots in the 12th century Caucasus region of Europe. Long associated with the Cossacks, the “Cavalry of the Steppes”, the sword was a standard military issue for Russian cavalry of the day. This version replicates the Model 1881 Shashka, originally produced during the reign of Tsar Nicholas II, whose cypher appears on the pommel. The sharp high-carbon blade is etched with the royal cypher, features the distinctive blade geometry of the sabre and the strong distal taper provides a balance ideal for its slashing role.  The unique hilt styling dispenses with the basket guard typical of other sabres and instead relies on a ribbed hardwood grip and a strongly hooked pommel, assisted by a strong leather lanyard, to provide handling security.

    Overal Length: 95cm
    Blade Length: 81cm
    Handle Length: 14cm
    Weight: 737g
    Point of Balance: 17cm
