Historical Excalibur
If King Arthur actually existed many historians place him as a war leader seeking to halt the invasion of the Saxons after the fall of Rome. There are many indications that England did, after a time of much strife, have a brief period of peace and prosperity in what is now called the "Dark Ages".

Roman Pompeii Gladius
This sword ("gladius" in Latin) was found in Pompeii, Italy and has a straight, double-edged blade. It was as effective for cuts as it was for thrusts, which means it was the perfect sword for close combat.
Learn More
The entire hilt, including the grip, is made of selected hardwood: ash and maple, to be precise. The guard prevents your hand from slipping down the blade after a strong thrust. The ample, ball-shaped pommel keeps your hand on the grip after strong cuts. A scabbard with ornamental brass applications comes with this Pompeii type gladius.

US Navy Cutlass M1860
Starting in 1860, US Navy M1860 cutlasses were manufactured for the US Navy in Chicopee, MA. They continued to be used after the Civil War broke out. Our replica has the marks you would expect to see on an original: "USN DR 1862" and "AMESMFGCO CHICOPEE MASS" to show that the cutlass is military issue and who manufactured it.
Learn More
Heavily influenced by the sabre used by the French navy, our US Navy Cutlass M1860 is a replica of the model that replaced the M1841. The slightly curved blade has a wide fuller that ends in the area of the point where the broad backstops and the false edge begins. The blade geometry of the M1860 makes it extraordinarily light. Held in place by a riveted pommel and the full knuckle bow at the hand guard, the wooden grip of this naval cutlass is covered in leather and wrapped with twisted, golden wire. It includes a leather scabbard with a frog for holding the scabbard.
