  • Hattin Falchion

The Hattin follows one of the more popular Medieval falchions, such as the famed Conyer’s falchion, with a surprisingly manoeuvrable convex shape matched to a classic cruciform hilt. Throughout the history of war and fencing, these robust weapons filled a much-needed role for a short powerful blade. A true working man's weapon, the falchion served as a kind of “temperate zone machete” as well as a fearsome tool of war. While sometimes lacking the cut to thrust versatility and warding capacity of a straight double-edged arming sword, it made up for it with a robust design that permitted viciously powerful blows.

  • The Eagle - Gladius of Marcus Aquila

This official gladius is a detail-rich replica of the sword Marcus Aquila wields in the movie. Of tempered carbon steel, the blade tapers from the cross guard into a kind of waistline, widening again before the point. This style of blade was named after Mainz, Germany, its place of discovery, and is the highest quality variant of the Roman gladius. The leaf-shaped Mainz blade was sturdier, heaver and better balanced than the Pompeii and Hispanicum styles. Aquila included, officers in particular were equipped with this kind of gladius.

You can tell from the elaborate decoration of Aquila's gladius that this isn't a mere legionary sword. The heavy, ellipsoid pommel, as well as the cross guard, feature a fine floral pattern and eagle motifs. Exquisitely grained wood has been lathe-turned for an ergonomic grip. Covered with dark leather, the wooden scabbard houses richly decorated metal plates. The relief on the chape shows a ruler surrounded by soldiers, and depicted on the throat is a legionary standing in front of a Roman temple. A continuation of the floral motifs are found on a third plate attached beneath the chape. A leather shoulder strap is attached with metal rings to the scabbard.

  • Italian Bastard Sword

This sword is a prime example of a classic bastard sword. The grip wrapped with genuine leather and the bottle-stopper-shaped pommel both make it easy to wield this blackened hand and a half sword with two hands. However, it is so light that it can also be used with one hand. The double-edged blade of this blackened hand and a half sword tapers gently to the point, which is slightly rounded. The crossguard is straight until the ends, which suddenly curve. The scabbard that comes with this sword is made of genuine leather. Both the mount and chape are made of blackened steel.

  • Late Medieval Arming Sword - Malta Sword

This late medieval arming sword echoes this change in standards. The long, tapered shape of the blade represents the beginnings of a larger development that would lead to pure thrusting weapons such as the rapier. Whereas the hilt figures squarely in the high medieval tradition of classical knight swords, the cross engraving on the pommel evokes a Christian worldview. The diagonal fluting of the leather wrapped around the grip keeps the sword secure in your hand. The steel cross-guard bends upward.

A sturdy brown scabbard of leather with chape and throat as well as a leather frog allow you to carry the sword with style and ease.
