This Viking battle axe has a blade of hand forged carbon steel which is fastened to a hardwood handle. Both sides of the blade are etched with a decorative Celtic knot pattern that features a dragon's head.

  • Greek Spearhead

    1 Review(s)

Only with an excellent spear tip like this one a spear is brought to life. With its weight, the blade made of hardened carbon steel promotes not only the punching force, but also its flight behaviour itself. The hollow area of the Greek spear tip extends in the form of the slightly conical spout over a length of approximately 11 cm. In combination with the two existing lateral holes, the best prerequisites for a secure connection of the Greek spear tip with the shaft (not supplied) are thus provided.

  • Danish Hand Axe

In the ranks of the Huscarls, the bodyguard of Scandinavian nobles and kings, axes of various sizes were a very popular weapon. The Huscarls often used the Danish axe with their left hand to attack the side of the enemy not protected by a shield. Pictures of the Danish axe can be found, for example, on the Bayeux Tapestry and date to the second half of the 11th century.

Smaller beard axes such as this Danish hand axe had evolved from Francisca and served the Huscarls primarily as devastating throwing axes, but were also used in close combat. A distinctive feature is the relatively long blade cutting, which tapers sharply towards the shaft. The blade encloses the shaft made of wood and is riveted to it. The shaft is largely straight but is widened at the lower end towards the blade, which improves the handling discreetly.

  • Roman Maintz Gladius

    1 Review(s)

This sword ("gladius" in Latin) found in Mainz, Germany and has a leaf-shaped, double-edged blade. It was as effective for cuts as it was for thrusts, which means it was the perfect sword for close combat.

The light, faux ivory grip is characteristic of this type of gladius and the guard prevents your hand from slipping onto the blade after a strong thrust. The ample, ball-shaped pommel keeps your hand on the grip after strong cuts. A scabbard with ornamental brass applications comes with this Mainz type gladius.
