In the days of the Crusades, most knights wore surcoats as protection against the sun as well as a form of identification on the battlefield.

The shining lions on this surcoat identify the man wearing it as one of Richard the Lionheart's knights, for example. Since the award-winning "Assassin's Creed" video game is set during the Third Crusade, you will often see this distinctive surcoat in the course of the game. Surcoats are typically sleeveless, and our original Assassin's Creed Lionheart surcoat is no exception. It is made of 100 percent cotton with armholes edged in wide, golden trim. Below the hips, this original Assassin's Creed surcoat is slit for more freedom of movement – on horseback and on foot.

Made to current military specifications, the Gurkha Assam Rifles Kukri is hand forged from high carbon steel and comes with a regulation sheath. This kukri has a 13-1/2" long blade that is double fullered. It also features the traditional religious notch symbolic of the trident (3 pronged spear) of Shiva.

At a little over 1/4" thick, this is a very powerful chopping blade. The polished, native hardwood handle is reinforced by a brass bolster and a brass pommel with a raised lion's head decoration.

The Arkansas Toothpick is a famous knife that was widely used in North America during the 19th century. This impressive knife was allegedly invented by knife maker James Black, the man who made the first Bowie knife. The two knives have lent their names to the state of Arkansas, which is known as "The Toothpick State" and "The Bowie State."

The Normans spread to England, Sicily and parts of Italy as mounted warriors, known for their long mail hauberks, kite shields and conical helmets.
