  • Regenyei Armory Vassal Type XIIIa LS05 Longsword

The “Vassal” longsword is inspired by the surviving Oakeshott Type XIIIa swords. Its dimensions give it a massive appearance – as a result, many people may know it as a Knight’s Sword or a War Sword. The tip of its wide blade is rounder than its late counterparts, its edges are almost parallel. Thanks to the lenticular cross-section of the blade, it is an excellent cutting weapon if sharpened.

It was typically used in the 13th and 14th centuries, but the style can also be found among later pieces. The blunt version has a slightly heavier draw, but its sharp version is downright enjoyable.
