Our Temple Church sword is a replica of a sword found in the River Thames in London. The sword, forged in the period between 1300-1350, was discovered opposite Temple Church, the headquarters of the Knights Templar in England.

During the 14th century, the gardens of the Temple in London ran down to the river’s edge where this sword was discovered. The discovery location, coupled with the crosses in the pommel, suggests that it is a Templar knight’s sword thrown into the river when the Order of the Temple was dissolved by Edward II in 1314.

The term "long sword" designates a sword that is longer than a one handed sword: approximately 37 cm or longer. A long sword was primarily wielded using two hands, but thanks to the comparatively light weight of this classic long sword, one handed techniques are also possible.

Its double-edged blade has three fullers, but the two outer ones only run the length of the ricasso. The ricasso itself is large enough for your second hand to reach over the crossguard with langet to grasp it. This hold significantly increases the pressure behind thrust techniques. The wooden grip is wrapped in leather, and both the pear-shaped pommel and the crossguard are made of steel. Our classic long sword comes with a leather scabbard with a mount and chape.

The latest addition to the Red Dragon Combat range of swords is our Oakeshott XIV Sword. It is a replica of an original that is currently on display in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.

Oakeshott describes it as being “an absolutely outstanding sword, not only because of its condition but by reason of its splendid proportions and great size. It dates from around the first quarter of the 14^th century and is remarkably similar to sword found on the body of Sancho IV el Bravo of Castile in Toledo Cathedral.

Paul Chen's Renaissance-style Rapiers trace their origins to early 17th century Europe, where swordplay with the Rapier was considered an essential part of a gentleman’s education and was often used in resolving gentlemanly disagreements. Blades generally originated in one of the blade making centers such as Toledo or Solingen, but many differences in styling and hilt materials resulted from the local manufacture of hilts all over Europe.

It is recommended for ladies training HEMA, regardless of their skills or advancement level. It is a very universal model that can become a base for creating light or heavy sparring sets. However, do not forget about additional overlays or plastrons, especially during the most intense sparrings to ensure the best possible cushioning.

The FG Light jacket is fastened with a zipper + velcro (so called double-closure). Blade catcher is attached to the collar, and the elbows with special straps for overlays attaching, e.g. Shell or PRO. This type of FG is cut off at the waist and is quite long - reaching mid-thigh. It also has slits on the sides.

This gambeson is made of 350N puncture resistant fabrics. A 3D spacer mesh was used for the production of the lining. Like the women’s AP Light 350N, the FG jacket has pockets for additional foams (included with the jacket). They are modifiable: you can remove them, change their size, shape or add additional cushioning layers.

An important feature of this jacket is its low weight (the lowest among the FG family). Breathable construction and high level of hygroscopicity are other features of this women gambeson. What's important, you won't lose your mobility during training, mainly due to its fitted construction. If you are looking for a lighter and very comfortable jacket which covers the thighs, the FG Light 350N is for you!
