  • Norman Nasal Helm - 16 gauge

    The Norman "Nasal" Helmet was based on earlier Viking Helmet designs and could be worn over a chainmail coif or with chainmail aventail to protect the neck. The nasal bar was designed to protect the face but meant that Knights were often unrecognisable. The famous Bayeux Tapestry shows William the Conqueror tipping his helmet back to reveal his face and prove to his soldiers that he was still alive!

    Our Norman Nasal Helmet features a reinforced 10 gauge nasal bar, leather liner a buckled leather chin strap.  It is constructed from 16 gauge steel making it suitable for most re-enactment groups.

  • Great Bascinet - 14 gauge

    Our 15th Century Great Bascinet features a moveable visor that can be opened both upward and also towards each side thanks to the removable pins in the hinges. Brass vervelles attached to the rim serve as attachment points for an aventail.

    It is crafted from 14 gauge steel making it great for re-enactment and features a padded lining and a leather chin strap.

  • Klappviser Bascinet - 14 gauge - Large

    The Klappvisier Bascinet is characterised by the single central hinge of the removable visor and was common in fourteenth century Germany. The visor typically covered the parts of the face not protected by an aventail, attachment points (vervelles) for which are provided on this helmet.

    It is crafted in 14 gauge steel and offers full head protection. Lined and ready for use. Perfect for the re-enactment field.

    Our Houndskull Bascinet is modelled on a late 14th century original. The visor can be raised to provide greater vision and ventilation. It features brass studs (vervelles) for the attachment of an aventail.

  • Corinthian Barbute Helmet

    Resembling the classic Greek helmets from an earlier age these helmets were popular throughout Italy and other European countries from the 15th century and offered an alternative to the more restrictive sallet.

    The extended sides protected the neck and jaw, dispensing with the need for a separate bevor or gorget. Crafted in 14 gauge steel with an adjustable leather liner and chinstrap.
