We sell an incredible selection of replica helmets from throughout history.  From the Classical Period we offer a range of Celtic, Greek and Roman helmets such as Roman Legionary Helmet and Greek Corinthian Helmet. From the later Dark Age period we have a great selection of Saxon and Viking helmets such as the incredible Coppergate and Sutton Hoo helmets.  Our range of Medieval helmets is unsurpassed!   • English Sallet - 18 gauge

    Our English Sallet is based on the Coventry Sallet, a surviving original from the 15th century currently on display in the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum in Coventry. This helmet was made during the period of the Wars of the Roses, most likely by an Italian armourer working in England, and is made in the English style. Very few pieces of English made armour survive from this period and the Coventry Sallet is believed to be the only example of its type in England.

    This sallet is hand crafted from polished steel and features a (pin locked) hinged visor that can be raised for better vision. The back and sides of the helmet feature rows of decorative rivets and the inside is lined with an adjustable leather spider with adjustable leather chin strap.

  • War of the Roses Archer's Helmet

    This helmet is of the type known as an archer's helm. This shape was commonly seen during the Wars of the Roses in England from 1455 to 1485. The rounded top and flared neck guard provided protection from missiles coming from above, while the wide face opening allowed for the unimpeded vision necessary for an accurate aim.

    This premium helmet features an attached liner and chin-strap in natural leather. Reproduced in steel, it is fully wearable by most adults.

  • Sir Ulrich Helmet

    Our Sir Ulrich Helmet is inspired by the helmet worn by Heath Ledger as Sir Ulrich von Lichtenstein in the hit movie “A Knight’s Tale”. It shares many of the same design features as the original prop helmet and as such is instantly recognisable to any fans of the movie (of which there are many!).

    It is hand-crafted from 18 gauge steel and features a tilting visor, a fully padded leather liner, and an adjustable leather chin strap. Combine with a helmet stand for an amazing showpiece or wear it for cosplay, it’s perfect for both!

  • Royal Armouries Henry VIII Tournament Helmet

    The armour is probably the earliest surviving product of Henry VIII's Almain armourers at his royal workshop. Designed for the Field of Cloth of Gold tournament, this close helmet was one of the earliest designed to turn on the collar to prevent neck injuries from heavy blows but still allow some peripheral vision. English from around 1520.

    This item does not come complete with liner and is for ornamental use only.

  • Sugar Loaf Helmet

    The Sugar Loaf helmet, so called because of its similarity in shape to the traditional "Sugar Loaves" that sugar was traditionally sold in, was a later variant of the Great Helm and was used throughout the 13th and 14th Centuries. This style of helmet saw use in many famous battles of the period and was also worn by Crusaders. The domed top was much better at deflecting blows than the flat topped Great Helms.

    Our Sugar Loaf Helmet is hand crafted from 18 gauge steel and decorated with a brass cross. It comes complete with separate padding lining cap that can be glued in if required. Not recommended for contact re-enactment.
