T Face Barbute - 14 gauge - Large
The T-face barbute (barbuta in Italian) was developed in Italy during the 15th century. These helmets were popular throughout Europe and offered an alternative to the more restrictive sallet. The extended sides protected the neck and jaw, dispensing with the need for a separate bevor or gorget. Our T-faced barbute replicates the helmet of the ‘Avant’ armour housed at the Kelvingrove Museum, Glasgow and is crafted in 14 gauge steel with an adjustable leather liner and chinstrap. Corinthian Barbute Helmet
Resembling the classic Greek helmets from an earlier age these helmets were popular throughout Italy and other European countries from the 15th century and offered an alternative to the more restrictive sallet.

Short-Tailed Sallet - 14 gauge - Large
The sallet or salade was popular across much of Europe throughout the second half of the 15th century. Short-Tailed Sallets were associated with English and French knights whereas the Long Tailed Sallets were used almost exclusively by the Germans. This reconstruction features a moveable visor (introduced late in the period to improve visibility).
Our Short-Tailed Sallet is hand crafted in 14 gauge steel. It features an adjustable leather liner and buckled leather chin strap. Perfect for re-enactment.

Houndskull Bascinet - 14 gauge
Our Houndskull Bascinet is modelled on a late 14th. century original. The visor can be raised to provide greater vision and ventilation. It features brass studs (vervelles) for the attachment of an aventail. It is constructed from 14 gauge steel and the helmet is fitted with a leather suspension and chinstrap. Great Bascinet - 14 gauge
Our 15th Century Great Bascinet features a moveable visor that can be opened both upward and also towards each side thanks to the removable pins in the hinges. Brass vervelles attached to the rim serve as attachment points for an aventail. It is crafted from 14 gauge steel making it great for re-enactment and features a padded lining and a leather chin strap.

Klappviser Bascinet - 14 gauge - Large
The Klappvisier Bascinet is characterised by the single central hinge of the removable visor and was common in fourteenth century Germany. The visor typically covered the parts of the face not protected by an aventail, attachment points (vervelles) for which are provided on this helmet. It is crafted in 14 gauge steel and offers full head protection. Lined and ready for use. Perfect for the re-enactment field.

Sugar Loaf Helmet with Visor – 14 gauge - Large
The Sugar Loaf helmet, so called because of its similarity in shape to the traditional "Sugar Loaves" that sugar was traditionally sold in, was a later variant of the Great Helm and was used throughout the 13th and 14th Centuries. This style of helmet saw use in many famous battles of the period and was also worn by Crusaders. The domed top was much better at deflecting blows than the flat topped Great Helms.
