The Knight Shop offer one of the most comprehensive collections of historical helmets for sale in UK.  Our diverse range caters for Reenactors, Live Action Role Players (LARP), Collectors, Stage Fighters (Theatre) and T.V. producers.

We sell an incredible selection of replica helmets from throughout history.  From the Classical Period we offer a range of Celtic, Greek and Roman helmets such as Roman Legionary Helmet and Greek Corinthian Helmet. From the later Dark Age period we have a great selection of Saxon and Viking helmets such as the incredible Coppergate and Sutton Hoo helmets.  Our range of Medieval helmets is unsurpassed!   • Phrygian Nasal Helm - 14 gauge

    The Norman "Nasal" Helmet was based on earlier Viking Helmet designs and could be worn over a chainmail coif or with chainmail aventail to protect the neck.

    The nasal bar was designed to protect the face but meant that Knights were often unrecognisable. The famous Bayeux Tapestry shows William the Conqueror tipping his helmet back to reveal his face and prove to his soldiers that he was still alive!

  • 13th Century Conical Helmet - 14 gauge

    After the Spangenhelm fell into disuse, helmets like this one came into warfare. They were known as conical or nasal helmets and these ones had a one piece skull protection. We can see plenty of depictions that features these helmets, like the “never failing” Maciejowski Bible.

  • Saint Wenceslaus I Nasal Helmet -14 gauge

    This helmet was made after the one kept on the Prague Castle who supposedly belonged to Saint Wenceslaus I, a Czech monarch from the early 10th century. This is one of the earliest conical helmets made in one piece that at the time where starting to substitute the comparatively weaker Spangenhelms. It has a beautiful riveted cross-shaped nasal.

    Meanwhile its decoration is sometimes wrongly related to Odin it’s more probably that corresponds to a conventionalized Christian cross representation. Even though the nasal is richly decorated on the original, we offer a clean version for you to make your own customizations. This is the perfect protection from the wealthy warriors from the 10th c. onwards.

    Our Saint Wenceslaus I Nasal Helmet is constructed from 14 gauge steel making it perfect from most re-enactment groups. It features an adjustable padded liner and buckled leather chin strap.

  • Sangüesa Transitional Helm - 14 gauge

    There are several examples of conical helmets with large facial visors. This one in particular is based on one found in the magnificent Romanesque portico of the church of Santa María la Real, in Sangüessa (Navarra). In the exterior archivolt you can see the professions of medieval society, including two armed men. One of them wearing a helmet like the one shown here. Other very similar ones can be seen in some codices of the same period.

  • Crusader Transitional Spangenhelm - 14 gauge

    This unusual Crusades era Spangenhelm, based on an early 13th century example, is provided with a ventilated faceplate, so providing full facial protection. It is constructed from 14 gauge steel with a suspension liner and chinstrap.

  • Spanish Comb Morion - 14 gauge

    The Morion Helmet was popular with the foot soldiers of European armies in the 16th and 17th centuries. It is thought to have originated in Spain and would certainly have been worn by soldiers of the Spanish Armada. This style of helmet is associated with soldiers of the English Civil War where it was commonly known as a "Pikeman's Pot".

    They were predominantly worn by the soldiers of Cromwell's New Model Army, along with breastplates and buff coats. Surviving morions from the siege of Colchester Castle in 1648 have been unearthed within its grounds and are now preserved in the castle. Some of the best-preserved morions from the English Civil War can now be seen in the Royal Armouries collection in Leeds.

    Suitable for 16th & 17th-century re-enactment, especially English Civil War Pikemen.

    Our Sugar Loaf Helmet is hand crafted from 14 gauge steel (for the skull) and 16 gauge steel for rest of the helmet. The brass cross is also 14 gauge.   • English Bascinet - 14 gauge

    The bascinet was one of the most commonly used helmets amongst cavalry and infantry from 1300 until approximately 1420. This type of helmet can be seen in a number of artistic representations, where the entire formations of soldiers would wear this kind of helmet.
