Our range of breastplates, cuirasses, gambesons and arming jackets from leading manufacturers such as GDFB and Marshal Historical, is great for re-enactment, LARP and theatrical work. Our cuirasses and breastplates are available in different thickness of steel depending on your needs. 14 and 16 gauge armour is great for re-enactment, with the lighter 18 gauge being preferred for LARP and theatre. Our Gambesons and Arming jackets are crafted to traditional historical designs and provide great protection on the battlefield.

  • Italian Back and Breastplate (Churburg S18) - 16 gauge

    Based on the S18 harness from the Churburg armoury, this piece is dated from the 15th century - although some specialists believe that it can be dated from 1370 to 1410. The original armour that this set is based on supposedly belonged to the Von Matsch family and is thought to be a Lombard work.

  • 15th Century German Back and Breastplates (Cuirass) with Tassets - 18 gauge

    This is a reproduction of German armour circa 1460 and 1500 with a corrugated and asymmetrical design. It is constructed from 18 gauge steel, and whilst that’s not ideal for re-enactment, it does make it lighter and more comfortable for LARP and theatrical use.

    This item is not made to measure and therefore may require a final adjustment from the client for a perfect fit. Can be adjusted to 190cm tall and 48” chest.

  • Gothic Cuirass (Back and Breastplates) - 18 gauge

    Gothic Armour was a popular style of armour in England and Germany during the late 15th Century. It was influenced by the peaks and ridges of Gothic architecture and art of the period and by the 1480's it was considered to be the best armour in Europe. It was worn by knights and nobles on both sides in the Wars of the Roses where it afforded excellent protection against the arrow storms associated with the battles of this period.

  • Brass Castilla Breastplate - 18 Gauge

    This handcrafted steel and brass Castilla & Leon Breastplate by Marto of Toledo is a one-piece solid construction of armour that covers the entire front of the torso.

    This type of breastplate was typical of the Spanish armoury in the 16th century and was mainly worn by foot soldiers.

    This steel armour is enhanced by riveted brass plates surrounding an oval relief emblem in the center of the breastplate. The relief emblem is that of the coat-of-arms for the Castilla & Leon region of Spain and is accompanied by two fleur de lis, one on either side.
