Medieval Shoulder Armour

We offer one of the best selections of shoulder armour, or to give them their proper title, Pauldrons, available to buy in the UK. Plate pauldrons became popular in the 15th century and were worn as part of a full harness right up until, the middle of the 17th century when plate armour became obsolete. Our offer a diverse range of pauldrons in different styles, from simple plain pieces to fully articulated and decorated museum replicas. Our range also includes fantasy leather shoulder armour that is ideal for LARP and accessories such as besagews to protect the armpits.

  • German Gothic Shoulder Armour (Pauldrons) - 18 gauge

In the second half of the 15th century, the art of crafting plate armour reached its peak when it came to fusing form with function. Despite its weight, heavy body armour allows the warrior wearing it more than enough freedom of movement.

Our Gothic Pauldrons are typical parts of plate armour harnesses. The pauldrons are made of 18 gauge steel, have leather straps to fasten them to a breastplate, and have straps with buckles to secure them to your arms. The upper edge of our Gothic pauldrons is flanged. These pieces are the ideal addition to our Gothic plate gauntlets, plate vambraces, plate greaves and our Gothic breastplate.
