Soaring Sky is based on a rare antique sample of an early Han Dynasty Jian. Soaring Sky represents a bridge between the 8 sided blade Chu Jian to the later 4 sided blade Han Jian. Soaring Sky has the beautiful eight sided cross-section inherited from Chu Jian with the long and slender profile of a classic Han Jian. Eight sided Han Jian is rare and usually find in tombs of royal family members and senior officials. The hilt has a rhomboid cross section profile for accurate edge alignment.

Striking Eagle is modelled after the design of 2,000+ year old Chu double hand swords excavated during the 1950-1980 from tombs dating back 315 - 221 BC of the ancient Kingdom of Chu. We adopt the length of the longest Jian ever excavated in China, discovered in 1983 from the tomb of King Zhao Mo (D. 122 BC).

Discovered in 1930 in a royal burial ground outside the Sui Dynasty eastern capital city of Luoyang. Clarence Mackay Double Dragons Sui Dao is a rare example of Sui Dynasty weapon and considered by many a National Treasure. This Sui Dao was brought to New York by Japanese antique dealer Yamanaka Sadajirō and purchased by Irish American Telecommunication Pioneer Clarence Mackay (1874-1938) as a gift to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. It has been in the Arms and Armor collection for the last 90 years.
