  • 15th Century Back & Breastplate - 16 gauge

    Our late-15th century-style cuirass is fabricated in 16 gauge steel making it great for re-enactment. It is decorated in the fashion of noblemen of the period. The breastplate and backplate are joined by adjustable leather straps to fit a range of torso sizes. The breastplate is reinforced with an integral plackart and fauld.

    Breastplate measures approximately 22 inches across and the Backplate measures approximately 23" across.

  • Milanese Point Tied Arms - 16 Gauge

    This arm protection has separate Vambrace, Couter and Rerebrace sections that can be laced together with leather thonging or attached to an arming jacket. The vambrace (forearm) and rerebrace (upper arm) armour are crafted from 16 gauge steel. The couter (elbow) is made from a thicker 14 gauge steel affording greater protection. Great for re-enactment.

    This version of the Viking "Spectacle Helm" is based on the “Gjermundbu Helmet”, the only Viking era helmet ever found in Scandinavia.   • Norman Nasal Helmet - 16 Gauge

    The Norman "Nasal" Helmet was based on earlier Viking Helmet designs and could be worn over a chainmail coif or with chainmail aventail to protect the neck. The nasal bar was designed to protect the face but meant that Knights were often unrecognisable. The famous Bayeux Tapestry shows William the Conqueror tipping his helmet back to reveal his face and prove to his soldiers that he was still alive!
