  • Practical Single-Hand Sword

Our Practical broadswords are all based on authentically styled swords in our collection but they are tailored to meet the needs of re-enactment and stage combat. These very popular and affordable weapons feature authentic hilt styling, with fully tempered un-edged and un-pointed blades. They are designed to withstand rugged use while providing the level of safety required by many of today’s re-enactment societies.

The blades are crafted from 1065 high-carbon steel, hardened to 50HRC, which restricts edge-notching to acceptable levels while providing resilience and protection against brittleness. While the blades are substantial, they are fullered to provide balance and good handling characteristics. They feature 1/16” wide edges and rounded tips for safety. The tangs are also substantial, with radiused corners at the blade shoulders and no welds.

  • Stage Combat Knights Templar Arming Sword

Our Stage Combat swords feature tempered, high carbon steel blades and are designed for light combat use. They have durable, thick edges, more than suitable for the rigours of stage combat and display fights. They also feature rounded tips for extra safety. Stage Combat swords are noticeably heavier than historical replicas due to the added weight afforded by the thicker edges. These swords are not designed for re-enactment use.

Our Knights Templar Arming Sword features an unsharpened carbon steel blade with central fuller. The grip is wood wrapped in brown leather and flanked with a steel guard and pommel. The pommel is emblazoned with an enamelled Templar red cross. Comes complete with wooded scabbard wrapped in brown leather with polished steel fittings.

  • Practical Bastard Sword

By customer request Paul Chen has produced a re-enactment version of our SH2250 Bastard sword. The blade is forged in 5160 high-carbon steel, to minimize burring, and the transverse thickness of the guard has been increased, both to provide adequate strength for re-enactment use and to present a safer profile at the ends of the guard. Another innovation is the provision of an all-leather scabbard, in contrast with the rigid scabbards normally provided with our Practical swords - this is designed both to provide an extra margin of safety when combatants fall on the scabbard in battle and also to minimze the need for replacement scabbards. The sword is supplied with the grip and scabbard in a neutral-colored leather to allow customization to the owners taste.

  • Stage Combat Longsword - Brass

Stage combat swords have to meet different requirements than battle-ready swords do. In order to minimize the risk of injury from cuts and thrusts during stage combat with swords, this elegant two-handed stage combat sword has back edges that are at least 3 mm thick everywhere and it even has a rounded point.

Despite its respectable size, our elegant two-handed stage combat sword is highly manageable. The leather wrapped grip and the fuller that runs more than two-thirds of its length add control and comfort and make this stage combat sword comparatively light, while the noble, riveted wheel pommel provides a counterweight for good balance. The graceful curve of the golden crossguard adds to the overall elegance of this two-handed stage combat sword. It includes a scabbard made of genuine leather with a golden mount and chape.

  • Stage Combat Two-Handed Sword

Stage combat swords have to meet different requirements than battle-ready swords do. In order to minimize the risk of injury from cuts and thrusts during stage combat with swords, this elegant two-handed stage combat sword has back edges that are at least 3 mm thick everywhere and it even has a rounded point.

Despite its respectable size, our two-handed stage combat sword is surprisingly manageable. This is primarily due to the fuller that runs more than three-quarters of the length of the sword, the two-handed grip covered in red fabric, and the large, riveted wheel pommel that serves as a counterweight to provide this two-handed stage combat sword with excellent balance. Clear, straight lines give this stage combat sword its simple beauty. It includes a genuine leather scabbard with a mount and chape.
