Circa 1763. This historically accurate cutlass is a replica of the type used by the Dutch East India Co., but it's like could be found across the seven seas. It must be stressed that no design rules applied to the early cutlass, and they took several forms. Our version features a slightly curved wood grip married to a gracefully formed knuckle guard and a steel shell on a long, effective blade.
