Renaissance Side Sword

£213.75

The Side Sword was a military sword of the 16th and 17th century Renaissance period that also achieved popularity among civilians, due to its relatively light weight and quickness. It also had an advantage over its contemporary, the rapier, in having the ability to cut efficiently as well as thrust. Based on an original German sword of this type, this sword is well balanced an feels exceptional in the hand. I have several swords covering 6 hundred year of sword development. This is by far the best I own. The balance is incredible. Its the fastest blade I have by far. The distal taper is fantastic. Not something I have seen on many blades at this price range. The blade is flexible but still stiff enough to delver good cuts. This feels like a real balanced sword that allows you to recover after a cut. Its well made, with no rattles. If you want to own a sword that feel like a sword should and will not totally break the bank. Look no further. (Posted on 15/02/2021)
