Mounted soldiers played a central role in the military history of the United States: From the American Revolutionary War (1775 - 1783) up to the American Civil War (1861 - 1865) mobile and powerful riders were a central part of US troops.
The US Cavalry sabre M1906 comes from the time a few years before the First World War - just before the cavalry was largely superseded by mechanized units such as tanks, trucks and air force.
Its design combines centuries of experience in forging swords with the simple beauty of advanced steel forging. The hand-forged blade is made of hardened carbon steel with a stabilizing groove that saves weight and plays an important role in balancing the sword. On one side of the blade is marked US JC and on the other side is a flaming bomb logo with the text A.S.Co. 1906
