  • Flintlock Duelling Pistol - 17th Century

    2 Review(s)

Flintlock pistols were used as both military and self-defence weapons. Their effective range was much shorter than a musket and they were frequently used in combination with sword or cutlass. The flintlock mechanism was first added to pistols in 1610 and by 1630 they started to become more common. The Parliamentarian cavalry were known to use early forms of flintlock pistol during the English Civil War. They proved to be effective against the unarmoured musketeers but were no match for the armour worn by both pikemen and cavalry. During the 1700's flintlock pistols would be carried by army and navy officers, as well as more notorious characters such as pirates and highwaymen. The flintlock pistol remained popular until the middle of the 19th century when it was gradually replaced by the more reliable percussion cap pistol.

Our Flintlock Pistol is hand crafted in Italy. It features a real wood stock and cast metal parts with an antique finish. Although this item is designed and manufactured with display in mind, the firing mechanism does work and the hammer can be released by pulling the trigger. It is not possible to make this item fire and it is not suitable for re-enactment. It is great for Pirate cosplay and fancy dress!

  • Twisted Hilt Scottish Claymore

    1 Review(s)

The Claymore (from the Scottish Gaelic claidheamh-mòr, meaning “great sword”) is a Scottish variant of the late medieval 2 handed sword. It differed from other longswords of the period in that it usually had forward sloping quillons terminating in quatrefoils. Claymores were in use during constant clan warfare and fights with the English from the 15th to 17th century. Claymores did exist as early as the Wars of Scottish Independence although they were smaller and few had the characteristic quatrefoil design. The last time that claymores were seen on the battlefield in any significant number was the Battle of Killiecrankie in 1689.

Our Twisted Hilt Scottish Claymore features a hand-forged high carbon steel blade topped with brass hilt fittings and a hand carved real wood grip. This sword has a blunt blade and is designed for display only.

  • Braveheart Freedom Fighter Sword

    1 Review(s)

This replica is very similar to the sword that appears in the "Braveheart" movie, especially because Simon Atherton, the prop master for the "Braveheart" movie, was involved in its development.

Hand forged of 1095 carbon steel, the blade of this sword is approx. 120 cm long. It has a slight taper and ends in a pear-shaped, riveted pommel. The grip is made of wood wrapped in dark brown leather that also includes the ricasso. A crossguard with a rectangular profile and a langet with a decorative pattern complete the hilt.

    Total Length: 154cm
    Blade Length: 120cm
    Grip Length: 25.5cm
    Weight: 3.03kg
    Blade Thickness (base): 4.7mm
    Blade Thickness (CoP): 4.4mm
    Blade Width (base): 5.0cm
    Blade Width (CoP): 5.0cm
