  • Horn Bugle - Small

This handmade Oxhorn blowing horn has been crafted in the time-honoured style that dates back to Viking days.

Made from a single bullhorn our Viking horns do not require reeds. The mouthpiece is prepared by cutting off the tip of the horn and making two drill cuts, to create the rim and cup design similar to that of brass instruments. The horn is then given a light sanding and polish to bring out its natural beauty whilst retaining that rustic appearance. A leather hanging strap is added to complete the look.

Traditionally used more for signalling than for music, horns have been used as sounding cries by many ancient societies - as a means of spreading messages, summoning people to meetings or festivals or to warn people of your approach.

The bugle, a modern-day descendant of the blowing horn, is used to call out orders in military camps or even scout camps, whilst as a hunting horn, it is used to flush out game.

Whatever your designs for this large bugle we are sure you will enjoy the deep resonant sound produced by these horns.

  • Excalibur Letter Opener with Camelot Stone Stand

Excalibur (meaning to 'cut steel') was the great sword of King Arthur which 'gave light like 30 torches'. In the Arthurian stories, the name is given to two different swords - the one that the young king pulled from the anvil set in the stone before the church, and so proved his right to the kingship; and the other which the king took from the arm that rose above the surface of the lake, 'clothed in white samite, mystic, wonderful' and which eventually received back the sword when Arthur was dying.

Our Excalibur Letter Opener in Stone is inspired by this age-old legend. It has an antiqued brass hilt and a shiny stainless steel blade that will make light work of all but the toughest of envelopes. The hand-painted resin stone features a metal plaque bearing the name "Camelot".

  • Miniature Suit of Armour

Fully enclosed suits of armour (or harnesses as they were known) were a development of the 15th century and afforded paramount protection for the wearer. The joints were articulated to allow for a combination of maximum protection whilst still allowing the wearer freedom to move and fight. The polished surfaces gave rise to the term "Alwyte Armour" and made it hard for blades and arrowheads to gain purchase.

Our Miniature Suit of Armour is a 1/3 scale replica and is fully articulated like the original. It comes complete with stand and sword and will add a sense of grandeur to wherever it is placed. Some (simple) assembly is required.

    Polished steel finish.

    Height: 70cm
    Width: 29cm
    Depth: 17cm
    Weight: 5276g
