  • Rampant Lion Tabard

Tabards were worn over chainmail to protect the metal from the elements such as the blistering heat of the sun and rust inducing rain. They were also worn to display the wearer’s coat of arms or affiliations so that they could be easily identified on the battlefield and in tournaments. Our Rampant Lion Tabard is handcrafted from 100% cotton and features a rampant lion embroidered on the front. In heraldry, the Lion traditionally symbolises courage, nobility, royalty, strength, stateliness and valour, because historically it has been regarded as the "king of beasts" The sides of the tabard are left open so that it can accommodate pretty much any size of wearer. It is usually worn with a belt which is not supplied – but there are plenty to choose from in our “Belts” category. Great for LARP or fancy dress!

  • Roman Caligae Sandals

Although caligae can resemble modern sandals, they were actually designed as marching boots. What the Romans considered “sandals” were not worn outside and were considered indoor footwear. Caligae were heavy soled hobnailed military boots issued to Roman Legionaries and auxiliaries throughout the Roman Empire.

Our Roman Caligae are manufactured by Deepeeka. They are authentically designed and favoured by Roman reenactors worldwide. They were developed with the help of experts within this field and are made from durable leather with reinforced hobnailed soles.

  • Templar Sergeant Overcoat Black

One of the purposes of overcoats was to identify the wearer as a knight. The Templar Order sergeants used to wear a black coat with red cross. Due to the Templar´s rules, the cross should be visible in both sides to identify sergeants from other orders members.

Other uses of the overcoat were to protect knights from the inclemency of the weather as crusader knights sometimes suffocated because of the overheating of their chainmail. It´s known that overcoats even saved the life of their wearer as it is said in the chronicle that narrates how an arrow wound up in the cloth which slowed down its speed.

    Made from cotton canvas.
