This disc brooch is a reproduction of a find from York and dates to the 9th/10th century. Due to its location, it indicates that there were good trade links between the Vikings & Saxons of the period. It is handmade in Scotland from lead-free pewter and measures 52mm across. It is suitable for fastening light cloaks and wool or linen garments.

This substantial brooch is based on a Viking age find from York. It also shows strong Saxon and Frankish influences. It is handmade in Scotland from lead free pewter and is suitable for fastening heavy woollen fabric.

Based on a find from Lisbjerg, Denmark, they sport a very cheerful looking gripping beast design. They are lighter than our previous version with a new mould being produced to replicate the traditional construction method. As a result, the back of the brooch is patterned with weave from the cloth used when making the mould - just like the originals.

The brooches are cast in lead-free pewter in Scotland and hand assembled by the Asgard crew.
