Matt had been searching for a set of medieval swords to recreate, with each minute detail and measurement captured. Naturally, he came to the Royal Armouries, home of the UK’s national collection of arms and armour to make this selection.

This new collection comprises a set of six historical swords, manufactured by Windlass Steelcrafts. Using the finest steel and materials, forged by the most skilled craftsmen, the Windlass Sword Collection is truly history brought to life. Every aspect of the original artefact has been considered in production, to deliver the most authentic experience. This replica is a reproduction of an article found in the Royal Armouries, an unusual single-edged, one-handed sword, reputedly excavated at the site of the battle of Castillon near the River Garonne, France (1453).

This replica is a reproduction of an article found in the Royal Armouries dated between 1300-1350. The sword is an Oakeshott Type XIV apparently found in a peat bog together with a sword which is now in the Oldeschalchi collection, Rome.

This replica is a reproduction of an article found in the Royal Armouries, a double-edged blade, hand-and-a-half sword dating from the Mid 14th Century. The original of this sword was found in Lake Constance in Central Europe which borders Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

This replica is a reproduction of an article found in the Royal Armouries, a sword believed to have been found in the River Thames before finding its way into the Tower of London collection and dating to around 1400-1430, this is the sort of hand-and-a-half sword that was often carried by knights and men-at-arms, and it features a two-handed hilt with the scent-stopper pommel.

This sword strikes with authority, despite the narrow appearance. This is due to the surprisingly thick spine for most of the length of the blade, making it very stiff, and ideally suited to half-swording and thrusting into things like mail voiders at the armpits of an enemy knight’s armor. This replica is crafted with a is hand forged by a skilled blacksmith exactly in the same manner as the original, but with superior modern 1080 high carbon steel that is fully tempered and is distally tapered for proper weight distribution. The sheath is made to replicate one of the period, with a wood body and covered with leather. The tip is reinforced with a brass chape that features a traditional cut-out.

In the pantheon of Norse deities, Baldur was the son of Odin and Frigg (thus a sibling to Thor and Loki) and as such, was destined to reign after Odin. Baldur is known as a figure who bestows joy to all those who share his company. Old Norse poetry relates the death of Baldur as a tragedy and a harbinger of Ragnarok.

In honor of lesser-known siblings everywhere, we've designed this classic Viking sword as a tribute to the fairest member of Asgard. The leather grip of this sword is laser engraved with the three runes that we feel most befit the Norse God. Some scholars believe the name Baldur translates to "bold" so the rune of courage has been added. In her attempt to save Baldur from harm, Frigg asked all things to swear never to harm him (except mistletoe) so the rune of protection has also been included. Finally, Baldur was also known to always be prepared for battle, so the rune of strength completes the array.

The blade is etched with runes that roughly can be translated as the spelling of "Baldur". The leather sheath (with integral belt) is covered with a layer of black suede that is adorned with top grain lace, throat, and chape. The throat and chape bear a Viking symbol for the sun, as Baldur was known as a shining light to all who knew him.

This Dagger is a companion to the Faith keeper Sword (501691), the high-carbon steel diamond cross-section blade on this dagger has a pierced cross of the Knights Templar at its ricasso. The pommel features a reversed inset image of the Signet of the Knights Templar, which can be used as a wax seal. The crossguard is inscribed on both sides with the Latin phrase Militum Xristi, “Seal of the Soldiers of Christ.”.

The dagger includes a custom, matching top-grain leather scabbard, which has a belt loop and locking stud to keep your weapon secure.

The seax (also called sax, seaxe, and hadseax) was the weapon of choice of Germanic tribes between the early Middle Ages and the Viking era. There are many variations with many different blade lengths: the Merovingian Seax was used as a tool as well as a weapon.

Our lightweight broad seax has a distinctive blade form and its cutting edge is on the long side of the single-edged blade. A decorative lozenge pattern and stripes are etched into the blade on both sides. Brass studs in the wooden grip add to the decorative effect and also give you a better grip on this seax. The leather scabbard is riveted at the top and bottom and laces on one side.
