Our Red Dragon Fencing Mask is one of the most popular masks in the HEMA marketplace and represents excellent value for beginners. This durable mask is suitable for longsword sparring and most other HEMA activities. It comes in “HEMA black” and features a removable (handwash only) red liner. The bib is rated at 350N. Available in Medium, Large and Extra Large.

Sizing for fencing masks are based on your vertical head circumference.

If you do not have a mask you already wear, measure your face by taking a tape measure, holding it underneath your chin with your mouth slightly open, from under your jaw, up past your ear, past the top of your head, down past your other ear, and back down to the bottom of your chin (from where you started).

The blade/tang joint (traditionally a weak point) is reinforced by a high tensile steel rod running along the full length of the handle. This also removes any flex in the handle traditionally associated with plastic training swords. The edges are left smooth to prevent friction burns but can be roughened with sandpaper for a better bind.

Unlike other leg protectors, ours articulate "with" the knee rather than restrict movement and most importantly offer side protection for the knee which is lacking on most of the protectors that are currently used. Our Red Dragon Shin Guards offer great protection from strikes below the knee. The shin is protected by a rigid plastic plate to disperse the force of the blow, whilst the generous layer of foam padding beneath absorbs the force. The calf and ankle are further protected by integrated plastic plates with foam padding. The guards are held firmly in place with 2 elasticated Velcro straps around the back of the calf and secured around the ankle with a nylon webbed strap.
