In the movie, "The Eagle," (2011) Roman officer, Marcus Aquila, together with his slave, Esca, find themselves in the harsh wilderness of Britain. On the search for the lost eagle standard of the ninth legion they venture deep into the Caledonian tribal regions north of Hadrian's Wall.

Our magnificent cuirass is a detail-rich replica of the armour Marcus Aquila wears as a centurion in the movie. The sculpturally modelled bulge of the muscles and other finely crafted details of this historical cuirass make it both effective battle gear and an impressive status symbol for highly ranked Roman soldiers.

Made of brass-plated steel, the cuirass has been artificially antiqued for an especially authentic look. Six leather straps hold the cuirass and backplate together – two on each side and two on the shoulders. The straps have buckles that allow you to adjust the cuirass to fit your body.

Fits people who are between 1.75 m and 1.88 m tall and have a maximum chest circumference of 130 cm.

The Corbridge Lorica Segmentata Roman armour was found as part of a larger hoard during the 1964 excavations of Corbridge Roman Town near to Hadrian's Wall. Dating from between AD122 and 138, the contents of the hoard were found in excellent condition, due to the way that they were buried in an iron-bound, leather-covered wooden chest. The Corbridge Hoard is one the most remarkable Roman finds of the past century.

The armour found there has since helped to shape Roman historians' understanding of Roman armour. The intricate designs and astonishingly preserved leather and textiles, helped people to understand how Roman armour was assembled and it was this discovery that made it possible to produce accepted reconstructions of this type of armour.

Our Lorica Segmentata Roman Armour – Child Size is a highly accurate representation of how the armour would have looked when it was worn by the garrison stationed at Hadrian's Wall.

It is constructed from aluminium so that it is lightweight and robust and will not rust or tarnish. It features brass and leather fittings like the originals. It's designed to fit children up to around 12 years old.

The Child Size Lorica Segmentata is great a great learning aid for kids studying Key Stage 2 (KS2) history.
