Confederate Sabre

£113.33

Our Confederate saber would have been primarily used by soldiers riding for famous generals like Jeb Stuart, Wade Hampton and Nathan Bedford Forrest. They taught the Yankees the meaning of fear. This Confederate saber is lightweight (approx. 1 kg) and manageable. The back is relatively broad up to the center of percussion (CoP), which makes the blade extremely stable. And the fuller, which also stops at the CoP, is responsible for the reduced weight and resulting manageability.

The blade curves more acutely as it nears the point, which magnifies the saber's cutting power. An accurate reproduction of a historical weapon (s. William Albaugh, "Confederate Edged Weapons", p. 137), the hand guard, the pommel, and even the wire wrapped around the brown leather that covers the grip are made of brass.

Description

Details

Weapons like this authentic, handcrafted Confederate saber were used to great effect by mounted soldiers during the 19th century American War Between the States – on both sides!

Near the base, the blade is stamped with the letters "C.S.A.," which of course stands for Confederate States of America, so everyone will know which side you are on. This Confederate saber comes with a metal scabbard with brass details and rings for attaching it to a frog. The pride of every member of the Confederate cavalry.

Got my Confederate Sabre today and I am happy with its quality, look, feel and realism. Just left a little disheartened about its fit in the Scabbard, it rattles and slides out if turned upside down? Don't know how to alleviate this which bothers me a little. Still a nice sword for the price and would recommend it to anyone wanting to purchase one. (Posted on 16/09/2021)

My sabre arrived in good time and I was impressed with the finish. Everything tight and secure. A little bit more tip heavy than I'm used to , but nothing serious. Wire grip is a bit hard on the soft office workers hands , so I just wear a thin leather glove.
It came sharpened and will cut through paper as advertised in the sharpening section.
