Viking Axes
Battle Axes were one of the most fearsome weapons used by the Viking and Anglo-Saxons alike. The shape of the axe head differed according to its purpose. Broad headed 2 handed axes that appeared towards the end of the period were specialised weapons that were almost a distinguishing mark of the Anglo-Danish Huscarls at the Battle of Hastings. Beaded Axes are sometimes identified as being specifically Nordic in origin. We offer a great rage of Viking Axes. Viking Thane Axe
This Windlass hand axe features many traits common to the Norse hatchets we've come to love through the years. The solid, one-piece forged head is strong X46Cr13 high-grade stainless steel with a 52 RC. The comfortably contoured handle is Sissoo, a North Indian hardwood and it's capped with a handsome genuine bone butt cap. Even better are the Norse engravings unique to our axe that are deeply etched on both sides of the handle, and on the bone end cap is a depiction of Thor's mighty hammer, Mjolnir.
