The long, thin blade is designed for quickness and forged from 1075 high carbon steel and arrives sharp right out of the box. The blade has a wide, continuous tang for strength and durability that is peened at the pommel. The handle is classically coffin-shaped and stained a stealthy deep black/brown.

Designed specifically to be used with a darkened, battle-hardened finish, extra wide tang, and tempering to a low 50s RC. This pre-sharpened blade has gone through rigorous testing. The hands-on nature of the manufacturing by master smiths makes this line unique. Includes a matching belt sheath, and certificate of authenticity signed by each smith that touched your blade through every step of the forging process.

Often glorified in movies and books, the life of the cowboy involves a lot of hardship – and more than enough hard work. In addition to the already countless health hazards that presented themselves throughout the work day, 19th-century cowboys had to deal with threats from Indians and rustlers. Many carried boot knives in their tall cowboy boots both to lower their risk of injury while dealing with their horses and generally to be able to move more freely.
