This sharpened blade has gone through rigorous testing and includes a matching scabbard, custom packaging and certificate of authenticity signed by each smith that touched your blade through every step of the forging process.

  • Renaissance Dagger

The Renaissance was a period in European history, from the 14th _17th century, that is regarded as the cultural bridge between the Middle ages and modern history. During this period the fighting arts and associated weaponry also went through change. This period gave birth to weapons like the elegant and refined rapier, designed more for duelling and protection than for use on the battlefield.

Our Renaissance Dagger is a weapon of a more refined age. Gone are the straight quillons of the medieval period, in favour of downturned quillons that make parrying easier. The blade is longer and thinner than medieval counterparts and is designed more for thrusting than cutting – whilst still remaining enough mass to solidly parry a blow from a rapier. These parrying daggers were sometimes called “Main Gauche” (French for “Left Hand”) as they were used in conjunction with a rapier, that was held in the right hand. It features solid steel hilt fittings and a leather wrapped grip. The hand forged blade is blunt and great for theatrical and re-enactment use. Not recommended for full contact combat. It comes complete with a laced leather scabbard with belt loop.

    Overall Length: 44cm
    Blade Length: 29cm
    Blade Width: 3.2cm
    Blade Thickness: 0.5cm
    Guard Width: 15.5cm
    Guard Depth: 2.3cm
    Grip Length: 8.6cm
    Edge: Blunt
    Scabbard: Leather

  • Munich Town Watch Dagger

Like most of the big cities of the Renaissance, Munich Germany had a town watch. The watchmen enforced the law to some extent but were primarily a well-armed troop of well-to-do citizens out to guard their interests. Our Munich Town Watch dagger is a parrying dagger for the left hand and is meant to be used together with our Munich Town Watch rapier (sold separately).

Thanks to its size, it can be used as a secondary offensive weapon and not for parrying only. Two fullers, each with holes in four places, run the entire length of the ricasso. This ornamental device makes the Munich Town Watch dagger exciting and a bit lighter at the same time. The grip is very ergonomic. It is made of wood elaborately wrapped with steel wire and has a decorative braided wire at both ends. A riveted pommel shaped like a flattened ball completes the hilt of our Munich Town Watch dagger. It comes with a matching scabbard made of leather.

    Total length: 48.5 cm
    Blade length: 33.5 cm
    Grip length: 9.5 cm

  • Silver Hilted Renaissance Dagger

    1 Review(s)

One of the most interesting features of the beautiful Renaissance dagger is its hexagonal, riveted grip made of nickel silver. It is slightly rounded to fit your hand. The three fullers, one that goes almost the entire length of the dagger and two others that stop at the end of the ricasso, decorate the blade. The crossguard and pommel are also made of nickel silver.

Our dagger with silver hilt comes with a leather scabbard including a mount and chape made of metal.

    Total length: 36 cm
    Blade length: 25 cm
