I'm quite big and this fits surprisingly well considering it's made to fit a variety of shapes and sizes. You may want to remove the waist straps and cinch it in with a belt- I found this made it more comfortable to wear. It's well-made from quality steel, is shaped correctly, and would provide quite substantial protection. The only real drawbacks are the width at the bottom of the chest; the sides can dig in a bit (but if you're wearing a gambeson you won't really notice), and the weight, which does become more noticeable the longer you wear it.
