The barrel armour is a late Medieval Armour from Europe used between the 15th and 16th Centuries. The barrel armor was specially developed for fighting on foot. It is usually smooth or in folds (pleated skirt armor) and is attached to the lower breastplate. It protects the wearer up to about the knees.
