  • Renaissance Longsword

    1 Review(s)

Swords like this Renaissance long sword are often called bastard or hand and a half swords. The term "bastard" indicates that this versatile sword can be used one handed or two handed.

The double-edged blade has three fullers. The two outer ones run the length of the ricasso only and the middle one extends over approx. one-third the length of the blade. The two side guard rings at the curved crossguard are an indication that this edged weapon was in use during the transition between the rapier and the classic sword. The grip is made of wood wrapped in leather and decorative wire for a sure grasp. Our Renaissance long sword includes a scabbard with an attractive mount and chape.

  • Medieval Bastard Sword

    1 Review(s)

Brought back by popular demand, we are pleased to offer this Windlass Classic bastard sword. This massive broad sword could have easily been used at the Battle of Bosworth Field in 1485, cutting and slashing its way through the Tudor ranks. As large as this sword is, it is still amazingly light and well balanced.

The wide blade is forged of high carbon steel, while the pommel and cross guard have been antiqued with a darkened, aged finish. The large 7" handle is wrapped in soft black leather with a steel separator ring and can easily accommodate two hands. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts.

  • Agincourt War Sword

    1 Review(s)

Combining versatility with utility, the dexterity and lightness of the Agincourt betrays a dangerous fighting blade of respected martial utility. With a 1065 high carbon steel blued patina, it’s well protected from the frequent rust spots and stains that occur so often from everyday practice and exposure to the elements. The battle-hardened finish had an extra wide tang and is tempering to a low 50's RC. This pre-sharpened blade has gone through rigorous testing.

The hands-on nature of the manufacturing by master smiths makes this line unique. Includes a matching scabbard with belt stop, custom packaging and certificate of authenticity signed by each smith that touched your blade through every step of the forging process. One could easily envision English long-bowmen and knights alike wielding this blackened blade on the fields of the famous and disastrous battle honoured in the naming of this sword.

  • Bosworth Longsword

    5 Review(s)

A beautifully proportioned weapon with dynamic handling qualities, it is a harmony of mass and dimension. With a long, semi-tapered diamond cross-section fitted to a round ergonomic pommel on a double-handed grip, this is a fine example of the perfection that was achieved in this popular design. Against any opposing arms or armour it was capable of quick deadly cuts as well as accurate and forceful thrusts. Aptly named for the bloody late 15th-century battle during the War of the Roses, the Bosworth is a fast and capable warsword adeptly able to execute the deadly “Mastercut” techniques so closely associated with double-handed blades of the period. With a slim handle that virtually begs to be gripped in the diverse and effective winding actions that this kind of sword ideally allowed, it features a surprisingly small heft for its size.

This ebony-toned “queen of weapons” is perfectly suited to foot-combat in war, judicial duel or knightly challenge. This is a substantial and graceful weapon that will leave the wielder every confidence it could readily defend life if called upon. Discover with it just why this form of longsword was respected for centuries and celebrated against whatever it encountered.
