Roman Baldric
This Roman baldric is made of genuine leather and is the ancient version of a sword belt. The leather strap is worn across one shoulder splits at both ends into two straps of different lengths. The three straps form loops around the metal rings used to attach the scabbard of a Roman gladius, for example (gladius sold separately). With this mechanism, a legionary can carry his sword at his side and always have it at hand. The loops of this Roman baldric are fastened with handy Chicago screws. The strap is also adjustable in length.

Roman Tunic - Wool
Made of thick wool dyed to a deep red, this tunic is a must for the serious Roman reenactor or anyone wanting authentic looking Roman garb. Tunics similar to this were worn by both civilians and Roman legionaries.
Learn More
While civilians would wear them hanging straight down to their knees, soldiers would wear them ''bloused'' up with a belt so the bottom was at about the mid-thigh length. This look was part of what distinguished a soldier, and they took it very seriously. So much so, that a common form of military punishment for minor offensives was to be forced to stand at attention without a belt. This caused the tunic to hang to the knees and was considered very humiliating to the soldier.

Roman Caligae Sandals
Although caligae can resemble modern sandals, they were actually designed as marching boots. What the Romans considered “sandals” were not worn outside and were considered indoor footwear. Caligae were heavy soled hobnailed military boots issued to Roman Legionaries and auxiliaries throughout the Roman Empire.

Our Roman Caligae are manufactured by Deepeeka. They are authentically designed and favoured by Roman reenactors worldwide. They were developed with the help of experts within this field and are made from durable leather with reinforced hobnailed soles.
