  • Light Arming Cap - Black

Worn under a helmet or coif, the arming cap offered extra cushioning for the head. Although the original cloth caps were widely stuffed with rags and straw, our poly/cotton cap is thickly lined with fibre fill. Machine washable. Quilted construction with a tie cord.

Our Light Arming Cap is better suited as part of a costume rather than for use in combat. If you are looking for something to fight in, check out our standard arming caps.

  • Wizards Hat

You can usually recognize a wizard by his long beard and typical wizard hat. This wizard hat is not the conical purple hat with gold stars you're probably thinking of – that is what a wizard wears when he's at a party. Our wizard hat made of light gray wool felt is what wizards wear when they are out and about saving kingdoms or battling evil.

  • Templar Tunic

At the council of Troyes in 1128, the Templar Order was confirmed by Pope Honorius II. The Knights received the white vestment as a symbol of purity of their life, to which Pope Eugenius added the red cross in 1146. King Baldwin II, the King of Jerusalem, installed the Order in a part of the Palace of Jerusalem believed to be Solomon’s Temple, from which they took the name of Knights of the Temple or Templars.
The order’s battle honours in the defence of the Holy Land are now legendary, while the accounts of their missing accumulated wealth are still a mystery.

This Templar Tunic is made from a medium weight white cotton and has a large red velvet Templar cross stitched to the chest, with faux leather trims on the collar and shoulders.

  • Knights Templar Surcoat

"Not to us, O Lord, not to us but to your name be the glory." Psalm 115 was the motto of the Templar Knights, an order that was established in the wake of the first Crusade. Combining the ideals of noble knights and religious monks was as much of a historical innovation as the Crusades themselves were. The battling Christians were highly visible on account of their white surcoats, which had contrasting red crosses pattee over their hearts.

Our reproduction is historically accurate. The single red cross pattee really stands out on the background of sturdy, white 100 percent cotton. This sleeveless surcoat has slits below the hips and includes a braided belt of brown wool (not shown).

Surcoat only. Does not include other accessories shown.

  • Assassin's Creed Lionheart Surcoat

In the days of the Crusades, most knights wore surcoats as protection against the sun as well as a form of identification on the battlefield.

The shining lions on this surcoat identify the man wearing it as one of Richard the Lionheart's knights, for example. Since the award-winning "Assassin's Creed" video game is set during the Third Crusade, you will often see this distinctive surcoat in the course of the game. Surcoats are typically sleeveless, and our original Assassin's Creed Lionheart surcoat is no exception. It is made of 100 percent cotton with armholes edged in wide, golden trim. Below the hips, this original Assassin's Creed surcoat is slit for more freedom of movement – on horseback and on foot.

  • Robin Hood Sir Godfrey Surcoat

The Sir Godfrey surcoat is an original, licensed costume reproduction from Ridley Scott's Robin Hood movie, released in 2010.

Classic villain and antagonist Sir Godfrey pretends to follow King John, but in reality he is in league with the French. As a noble bad guy, Sir Godfrey wears an elegant, well-cut surcoat. It is made of soft, brushed fabric in steel grey with slits at the front and the back for plenty of freedom of movement. Lined on the inside and with lacing at the back, our Robin Hood Sir Godfrey surcoat features a colourful coat of arms on the chest. Metallic thread was used in the arabesques that surround the shield with the lion rampant for bravery and gold and white stripes for peace and generosity.

  • Robin Hood Sir William Marshal Surcoat

Our original Robin Hood Sir William Marshal surcoat is the licensed replica from "Robin Hood," the Universal Pictures movie directed by Ridley Scott.

The Sir William Marshal character is historically documented. Archbishop of Canterbury Stephen Langton called him the "greatest knight who ever lived." Accordingly, our Robin Hood Sir William Marshal surcoat in particolored sand and green makes even the greatest warrior look good. Its soft, brushed texture is very comfortable to the touch and it is lined for extra wearing comfort. The red lion on the chest is drawn imperfectly, the way it would have looked in the Middle Ages. This surcoat has leather lacing at the chest and is slit at the front and back for as much freedom of movement as possible.

  • Crusader Knight's Surcoat

Tabards were worn over chainmail to protect the metal from the elements such as the blistering heat of the sun and rust inducing rain. They were also worn to display the wearer’s coat of arms or affiliations so that they could be easily identified on the battlefield and in tournaments. Our Crusader Knight’s Tabard is handcrafted from 100% cotton and is finished in heraldic blue and yellow colours adorned with Crusader crosses on the chest. It is usually worn with a belt which is not supplied – but there are plenty to choose from in our “Belts” category. Great for LARP or fancy dress!
