This sword is considered by some to be the best fighting sword ever issued to a British Officer. As such it has never been replaced and is the current issue sword within the British Army. The only difference between this sword and its Victorian predecessor is the cypher of the reigning monarch at the time of issue. The polished blade has been forged from AISI 1065 High Carbon Steel and has been well tempered. Includes regulation pattern leather scabbard.

Our 1788 Pattern Heavy Cavalry Sword is a replica of the original swords of the late 18^th century carried by such notable regiments as the Prince of Wales’s Regiment of Dragoon Guards, the Inniskilling Dragoons and the 2^nd Irish Horse (5^th Dragoon Guards). Whilst a sword of this size and weight would be effective in a charge, cavalry troopers often bemoaned its cumbersome handling and the brittleness of the blade.

It features and enclosed basket hilt made up of a number of interlinked bars, a leather wrapped grip and a long double-edged high carbon steel blade (blunt). Comes complete with leather wrapped wooden scabbard with metal fittings.

Light Cavalry refers to lightly armed troops whose major tasks were reconnaissance, screening, skirmishing, raiding, and communications. They used to carry a light sword like this. This Light Cavalry sword found its use mainly around 1796. It has a curved blade, which makes it easy to be carried around the waist while riding on the horse.

Designed by Major-General John Gaspard Le Marchant, the 1796 pattern light cavalry saber was based on Central and Eastern European hussar swords. As a young captain, he observed the clumsy design of the heavy, overly long 1788 Pattern swords. He gave the blade of this saber a pronounced curve, which made it more adept at cavalry attack methods, and designed it with a widened tip that affected the balance, but made slashes far more brutal. It was issued primarily to British light dragoons and hussars and was also used by the King's German Legion light cavalry during the Napoleonic Wars. The blade profile became so popular that the Prussians and other German states emulated its design throughout the 19th century.

This exact replica of an original antique blade features an extreme distal taper, enabling it to feel exceptionally lively. The blade is hand forged from tough 1080 high carbon steel and spring tempered and arrives fully sharpened.

The hilt replicates the originals, with a knuckle guard, steel spine, and contoured, ribbed leather grip. Complete with accurately reproduced steel scabbard.

The 1912 Pattern British Cavalry Sword was introduced for officers, who had previously carried privately purchased non-regulation swords.

The 1912 Pattern Sword was essentially the same as the 1908 Pattern but featured more decoration. The bowl shaped guard features an engraved floral pattern that was designed to mimic the honeysuckle pattern that was seen on officer’s swords in the 19^th century. This sword has a blunt  forged steel blade which has not been tempered so we would only recommend it for display only. Features a steel guard, leather wrapped grip and polished steel scabbard.

This reproduction of a British infantrymans hanger is based on an extant example dating to 1760. These British brass-hilted swords were heavily influenced by French and German hangers from the continent as evidenced by its half-basket hilt with a heart shaped guard. The hanger sword is designed for close-in fighting – the blade is an ideal length for a close-quarters scrum.

This Hanger sword has a blade of 1055 high carbon steel peened to a hilt of brass. Its companion scabbard is crafted from sturdy leather with chape and throat pieces of brass.

This recreation of the British 1796 Drummers sword has a plain blade of unsharpened, tempered, high carbon steel. The hilt is entirely of brass. The scabbard is of leather with brass accents.

The sword is the version used by the musicians, though the overall sword design and construction were inherently the same as the ones carried by the Sergeant.

This replica of the British Royal Artillery Gunners Sword has a blade forged from 1055 high carbon steel; replicated at the base of the spine are the manufacturer's markings as seen on an original example (DAWES BIRMM – William and Samuel Dawes of Birmingham). The hilt is crafted from brass and the wooden grip is bound in black leather. The sword is paired with a leather scabbard complete with a brass chape and locket.

This British Royal Artillery Sword was the sidearm of British Artillery crews in the early 1800s and these swords saw action in the Peninsular War, Waterloo, and the War of 1812. Unique for its wide and straight-bladed design, the sword was likely inspired by the French Imperial Guard Infantry Sword. The United States would borrow heavily from the design of this British sword when creating their own US Light Artilleryman's Saber during the War of 1812 which essentially was a marginally modified hilt design coupled with a curved saber blade.
