  • The Eagle - Eagle Head Gladius

This official gladius is a detail-rich replica of the eagle sword from the movie. Of tempered carbon steel, the blade tapers from the cross guard into a kind of waistline, widening again before the point. This style of blade was named after Mainz, Germany, its place of discovery, and is the highest quality variant of the Roman gladius. The leaf-shaped Mainz blade was sturdier, heaver and better balanced than the Pompeii and Hispanicum styles. Officers in particular were equipped with this kind of gladius.

You can tell from the elaborate decoration of this gladius that this isn't a mere legionary sword. The finely crafted grip with decorative patterns ends seamlessly in the sculptural eagle head – by far the most distinctive feature on this exceptional sword. Covered with dark leather, the wooden scabbard boasts richly decorated metal plates. The relief on the chape shows a ruler surrounded by soldiers, and depicted on the throat is a legionary standing in front of a Roman temple. On the central plates there are classical Roman laurel vines completed by a laurel wreath insignia in the middle of the scabbard. A leather shoulder strap is attached with metal rings to the scabbard. All metal parts have been artificially antiqued to give the Eagle Head Gladius an especially battle-tested look.

  • Roman Pompeii Gladius

This sword ("gladius" in Latin) was found in Pompeii, Italy and has a straight, double-edged blade. It was as effective for cuts as it was for thrusts, which means it was the perfect sword for close combat.

The entire hilt, including the grip, is made of selected hardwood: ash and maple, to be precise. The guard prevents your hand from slipping down the blade after a strong thrust. The ample, ball-shaped pommel keeps your hand on the grip after strong cuts. A scabbard with ornamental brass applications comes with this Pompeii type gladius.

  • US Navy Cutlass M1860

    1 Review(s)

Starting in 1860, US Navy M1860 cutlasses were manufactured for the US Navy in Chicopee, MA. They continued to be used after the Civil War broke out. Our replica has the marks you would expect to see on an original: "USN DR 1862" and "AMESMFGCO CHICOPEE MASS" to show that the cutlass is military issue and who manufactured it.

Heavily influenced by the sabre used by the French navy, our US Navy Cutlass M1860 is a replica of the model that replaced the M1841. The slightly curved blade has a wide fuller that ends in the area of the point where the broad backstops and the false edge begins. The blade geometry of the M1860 makes it extraordinarily light. Held in place by a riveted pommel and the full knuckle bow at the hand guard, the wooden grip of this naval cutlass is covered in leather and wrapped with twisted, golden wire. It includes a leather scabbard with a frog for holding the scabbard.

  • Ulfberht Viking Sword

An old legend has it that a Nordic smith named Ulfberht developed the first all steel blade. This crucial development achieved near-mythical status among warriors, making this one of the most important swords in the study of medieval weapons. Several of these blades from slightly different time periods exist, some engraved in gratitude and reverence with Ulfberht’s hallowed name.

The etchings on both sides of our blade are copied exactly so that our reproduction is identical, warts and all. Made of high carbon steel (actually better than the original) it is beautifully balanced. The grip is wood wrapped with leather. The stout crossguard is steel and the pommel is of the Brazil nut shape that was quite popular at the time, both with Vikings and the rest of Europe. A beautiful and important sword. Comes with scabbard.

This sword ("gladius" in Latin) found in Mainz, Germany and has a leaf-shaped, double-edged blade. It was as effective for cuts as it was for thrusts, which means it was the perfect sword for close combat.

  • Arkansas Toothpick Survival Knife

The Arkansas Toothpick is a famous knife that was widely used in North America during the 19th century. This impressive knife was allegedly invented by knife maker James Black, the man who made the first Bowie knife. The two knives have lent their names to the state of Arkansas, which is known as "The Toothpick State" and "The Bowie State."

Both knives have stately dimensions, but that is about all they have in common. The blade of the Arkansas Toothpick is symmetric and kept very simple. Due to the length of the blade, this edged weapon is ideal for wilderness survival. The crossguard and riveted pommel are made of brass, while the comfortable, coffin-shaped handle is made of wood. Our Arkansas Toothpick comes with a leather sheath with a brass chape.

  • Renaissance Longsword

    1 Review(s)

Swords like this Renaissance long sword are often called bastard or hand and a half swords. The term "bastard" indicates that this versatile sword can be used one handed or two handed.

The double-edged blade has three fullers. The two outer ones run the length of the ricasso only and the middle one extends over approx. one-third the length of the blade. The two side guard rings at the curved crossguard are an indication that this edged weapon was in use during the transition between the rapier and the classic sword. The grip is made of wood wrapped in leather and decorative wire for a sure grasp. Our Renaissance long sword includes a scabbard with an attractive mount and chape.
