  • Gurkha Officer's Kukri (Official Spec.)

    3 Review(s)

Our Officer’s Kukri is manufactured by Windlass Steelcrafts. It is a little smaller than the standard regimental weapon, but its grip is made of natural buffalo horn. The blade of tempered carbon steel came from the same forge that has made the official edged weapons of the Indian Army for years. The officer's model has a short, narrow fuller from the grip to the curve of the blade and the typical cutouts that symbolise the god Shiva's trident. It has a full tang, which is riveted to the brass pommel end.

This Officer’s Kukri includes a wooden scabbard covered with black buffalo leather and a brass chape. At the back, there are two pockets for the smaller accompanying knives, the karda and chakmak. The holder for the belt loop is removable as required.

  • Royal Armouries 16th Century Italian Cinquedea Short Sword

The cinquedea was a characteristic type of Italian broad-bladed short sword or large dagger, with this example in the Royal Armouries having a longer blade, dating to around 1500-1530.

The impressively broad blade of 26 inches has a complex transition from three down to two fullers, with a thin and distally tapered cross-section which make this a very light and fast weapon for the size.

The sheath is made with a wood body and covered with leather. The tip is reinforced with a brass chape that features ornate cut-outs and an acorn tip. At the throat, the leather extends upward and covers part of the guard at the ricasso.

    Total Length: 80.5cm
    Blade Length: 66cm
    Blade Width: 8.5cm
    P.O.B (from guard): 11.7cm

  • Royal Armouries 15th Century Arming Sword

This arming sword in the Royal Armouries Collection dates to the late-15th century and is likely to be of English provenance. This type of sword is a medium-to-high status sidearm of the late-15th century and into the early 16th century, and would have been worn both with and without armour. It would have been a knightly backup weapon, used in combat both on foot and mounted.

Our replica is a precise, faithful replica, manufactured traditionally in very similar ways to the original. It features a robust cut and thrust Oakeshott Type XVIII blade, long curved quillons with characteristic terminals, short grip and prominent solid wheel pommel.

The sheath is made with a wood body and covered with leather. The tip is reinforced with a brass chape that features ornate cut-outs and an acorn tip. At the throat, the leather extends upward and covers part of the guard at the ricasso.

    Total Length: 95cm
    Blade Length: 78cm

    P.O.B (from guard): 9.5cm
    Edge: Blunt

  • Royal Armouries 14th Century Hand and a Half Sword

The precise origin of this European sword is unknown, but from the markings it is likely to be German or possibly Italian. It found its way into the Arsenal of Alexandria either as a diplomatic gift, war booty or as a tribute object from the Kingdom of Cyprus to the Sultanate of Egypt, where it was inscribed with Arabic text. From there it made its way into at least one private collection, before subsequently being acquired by the Royal Armouries.

This sword features a broad and powerful Oakeshott Type XVI blade. This is quite a heavy sword by the standards of the day, due to the length and breadth of the blade, but is wonderfully balanced thanks to the distal taper, long grip and large pommel.

The sheath is made with a wood body and covered with leather. The tip is reinforced with a brass chape that features ornate cut-outs and an acorn tip. At the throat, the leather extends upward and covers part of the guard at the ricasso.

    Total Length: 123cm
    Blade Length: 96.5cm

  • DAMAGED - 17th Century Italian Rapier

    DAMAGE: Rust on guard
    Quantity: 1

A beautifully executed 17th Century rapier with a very complex hilt and faceted pommel. The grip is hand-wound with silver plated wire with woven wire rings, top and bottom. The hand-forged, high carbon steel, fully tempered blade features a wide fuller to lighten and strengthen it for thrusting and the heavy ricasso provides extra strength to the main stress area. The blade features a fine point, so it excels at thrusting.

The top-quality, genuine leather scabbard features deeply engraved floral patterns on the throat and tip. This type of sword was deadly effective as a duelling weapon. This 17th Century Italian Rapier was designed by Bruce Brookhart and dedicated to his friend, Hank Reinhardt. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts.

  • DAMAGED - Swept Hilt Rapier

    DAMAGE: Doesn't fit in scabbard
    Quantity: 1

This swept hilt rapier was quite popular in the late 16th and early 17th centuries. Our version is hand forged by the skilled artisans at Windlass Steelcrafts and has a blade of high carbon steel with a diamond cross-section. This gives the blade firmness, yet allowing it to be flexible in action. The all-steel guard and ornate pommel are accented with a real bleached, polished bone grip. Includes a full leather scabbard with steel throat and shoe.

This was one of our most popular rapiers for a number of years and was retired years ago. We are proud to bring back this elegant sword by popular demand for a limited time as one of our Windlass Classics.

NOTE: Bone is a natural product and may have slight variations from the photo shown, giving each handle a unique "one of a kind" finish.

  • Spartan Lakonia Short Sword

    7 Review(s)

The Spartans developed a short sword that is extraordinarily effective in close combat. The leaf-shaped, double-edged blade has an acute point and is well balanced due to the combination of the short, downward curving crossguard and bronze grip.

Our Spartan short sword dates from around 500 BC and includes a leather-covered scabbard made of wood. The metal band has rings so you can attach the sword and scabbard to a belt. This Spartan sword is based on the one illustrated in "The Spartan Army," a book by Nicholas Sekunda with illustrations by Richard Hook.

  • American Revolutionary War Sabre

    2 Review(s)

Dated to around 1775, the prototype for this handsome sabre is pictured in "Swords & Blades of the American Revolution," a book by George C. Neumann that is very popular with collectors and sword fans. The single-edged, subtly curved blade has two fullers. A narrow, deep fuller almost runs along the entire length of the blade. The other one is shorter, shallower, and much wider. Because of them, this amazing saber weighs less than one kilogram.

Nevertheless, our American Revolutionary War sabre is perfectly balanced for delivering mighty cuts: like most powerful cutting weapons, it is slightly top-heavy. The spiraling wooden grip is comfortable and easy to control, and the knuckle bow provides added hand protection.
