In the second half of the 15th century, the art of crafting plate armour reached its peak when it came to fusing form with function. Despite its weight, heavy plate armour allows the warrior wearing it enough freedom of movement.

Our Gothic plate gauntlets are typical parts of plate armour suits. Made of real steel, these plate gauntlets are fastened to your wrists with an adjustable leather strap and buckle, and have a leather tie for the fingers. They are lined with mittens made of genuine, soft leather. The thumb plates are hinged to the back of the hand. The underarm edges of our Gothic plate gauntlets are flanged. Plate armour came into popular usage during the middle of the 13th century, succeeded by full plate armour during the late 14th century. This is a reproduction of the popular Italian Gothic design of the period. This armour, acclaimed throughout Europe, offered a great deal of protection and comfort. It provided a rounded surface to deflect both lance and sword.

This armour is made of 18 gauge steel and comes complete with full skeletal body and decorative skirt. Leather straps come attached.
