  • Templar “Heater” Shield

    1 Review(s)

Our Templar Heater Shield is made of curved wood and is covered with sturdy canvas on both sides. The shield has two crossed hand grips made of leather at the back and a long leather arm strap that you hold under tension to keep the shield close to your body. If you need to drop the shield quickly, simply let go of the leather strap (as described in the "Manesse Codex.") Another long strap allows you to carry the shield on your back, and it has a padded arm rest for extra protection against hard blows.

The simple black & white design painted on the outside of the shield probably signifies the Templar knights: white stands for chivalry and purity.

  • Medieval Bar Mace

This staff-shaped mace is a simple weapon. It may lack a certain degree of elegance, but its massive solidity more than makes up for that. And it is very easy to use: pick it up by the wooden grip and start landing blows. When this medieval Italian mace gets going, neither sword nor armor nor bones are safe. Form follows function in this case: it destroys everything it comes into contact with. This mace is nothing less than the advanced development of the club and was used by hosts of foot soldiers and fighting farmers throughout Europe.

Our special model is based on a mace found during excavations on the Thames River. It features a two handed grip made of wood wrapped with a double layer of leather and a pommel to balance out the weight of the crossed steel plates.
