  • Templar “Heater” Shield

    1 Review(s)

Our Templar Heater Shield is made of curved wood and is covered with sturdy canvas on both sides. The shield has two crossed hand grips made of leather at the back and a long leather arm strap that you hold under tension to keep the shield close to your body. If you need to drop the shield quickly, simply let go of the leather strap (as described in the "Manesse Codex.") Another long strap allows you to carry the shield on your back, and it has a padded arm rest for extra protection against hard blows. The simple black & white design painted on the outside of the shield probably signifies the Templar knights: white stands for chivalry and purity.

  • Merovingian Seax

The seax (also called sax, seaxe, and hadseax) was the weapon of choice of Germanic tribes between the early Middle Ages and the Viking era. There are many variations with many different blade lengths: the Merovingian Seax was used as a tool as well as a weapon.

Our lightweight broad seax has a distinctive blade form and its cutting edge is on the long side of the single-edged blade. A decorative lozenge pattern and stripes are etched into the blade on both sides. Brass studs in the wooden grip add to the decorative effect and also give you a better grip on this seax. The leather scabbard is riveted at the top and bottom and laces on one side.

  • German Mace

If you are looking to bring the style of the 1500s knight to your home decor, check out the 16th Century German Mace. By the 15th Century, armor had become so well developed that it was almost impervious to a sword cut and even a thrust. The mace, which evolved from mans oldest weapon, the club, could make short work of that armor. With a few sound full-force blows the best of plate was so damaged that the wearers movement would be greatly impaired, and that lead quickly to defeat. This handsome example has 8 flanges that are made from steel that has been blackened to a deep luster. The bottoms of the shafts are wrapped in black leather for an improvement grip. The shaft is hollow, to help with balance and weight.

The nine-sided steel shaft of this German mace has a grip wrapped with black leather and a head with eight ribs. The black finish heralds doom and protects against rust.

    Total length: 60 cm
    Head length: 11 cm
    Handle length: 47.5 cm
    Grip length: 20 cm
    Diameter of head: 7.5 cm

  • Viking Dragon Axe

The battle axes of the High Middle Ages that were preferred by the Vikings are probably advanced developments of Frankish throwing axes. Their blades have straight upper edges, while the sharp edges were usually curved toward the handle. Their handles were too long to throw; instead, they were used in close combat with shields. This Viking battle axe has a blade of hand forged carbon steel which is fastened to a hardwood handle. Both sides of the blade are etched with a decorative Celtic knot pattern that features a dragon's head.

    Handle Length: 66.5 cm
    Blade Length: 18.5 cm
    Sharp edge: 12.2 cm

  • Crusader Kettle Hat

This item is an out of license replica of a helmet used in Kingdom of Heaven.

The English iron hat is a helmet shaped like a wide-brimmed hat. It is made of steel and provides protection from things coming down from above, like a hail of arrows or a sword for example. Many helmets of old restricted their wearers' vision or ability to breathe, but not our English iron hat. It is also lighter than you think! This English iron hat has an adjustable liner so it can fit almost any head. Lightweight and adjustable, it is very comfortable to wear. A leather chinstrap with buckle makes sure that this English iron hat stays on your head.

  • Frank Miller's 300 Spartan Greaves

Frank Miller's blockbuster "300" almost shocked the box office as much as the 300 Spartans shocked the Persian army. That the film is not a historically correct reproduction of the actual events, should be clear to everyone, because the comic filming has deliberately placed its focus on aesthetics. It is similar to clothing and armament, given that the Spartan Hoplites were among the most heavily armed fighters of antiquity, carrying about half a hundred pounds of equipment.

This stunning set of greaves complete the full Spartan outfit. They are constructed from durable steel and plated in antiqued brass with leather strapping that allows for a perfect fit.
