This sword is of a type that was widely in use during this period and would be what a hard-fighting warrior would prefer. That turned up fast! Comes with a sheath, which is good. Good heft to it and well balanced. A bit darker than the image, but that's not an issue (and could be resolved with some brasso!). Good value for money for those who want something that feels good in your hand without paying over the odds. (Posted on 16/05/2023)

The sword although being in the lower end of the market in terms of price is excellent value and quality. It is well made and finished and very useable. I researched for a while before choosing this one and I'm not disappointed, I wanted something I could use as its meant to be used but also reflected the mystery of Excalibur, Windlass lives up to its reputation of producing good well made products at reasonable prices this being no exception. I'm no expert, this is my first sword but I am very happy with my Windlass swords Historical Excalibur so far. I'm aware the sword is at the cheaper end of the market, I don't have a large budget and whatever I chose it had to be under £150. I did quite a bit of online research before I bought this one, Windlass swords seemed to come out top for budget items with some degree of quality and this is the case here, I wasn't disappointed. The sword is well made, and finished and to my eyes a beautiful object to see and handle, the scabbard also good quality and pleasing.
It very adequately expresses the special qualities one would expect from a representation of Excalibur without being too ostentatious like some of the more fancy medieval versions do.
I am delighted with my purchase and would happily buy a Windlass sword again from the Knights shop who's service, pricing and fast delivery is excellent. (Posted on 13/10/2021)
