Only issue I had was a bit of excess material at the end from the moulding process but I trimmed it with a penknife and sanded it down. Noone could tell (Posted on 25/08/2024) - Good TrainerReview by Charlie

The only drawback I could find so far is the sometimes loose fit of the rubber handle. It varies from sword to sword but one some of them it seems to be a bit loose. Luckily you usually don't recognize it, when you hold them firmly.
In my opinion this is the right trainings sword for most beginners and even advanced fighters if only light protection is available! (Posted on 08/10/2018) - Excellent Beginner ProductReview by Daniel

The problems I have it are specifically with the grip which you can feel doesn't sit flat against the tang. If I could redesign the handle, I would replace the rubber grip with a more solid abs plastic one with a rubberised coating to sit tight against the tang and be held on by the pommel. Incidentally I would also get the extended pommel next time, since I'm a slightly above average sized person and a little extra length on the handle would be nice.
The flexibility is good for safety in the thrust against light or even no protection. However the nylon blade may end up warping over time.
However these are nit-picking problems and I honestly think this is one of the best products designed for purpose on the HEMA market. (Posted on 06/05/2018) - Good..Really good.Review by Karl

The only bad point is for the "blade to blade" contact ,it's a little too much "skaty" compare to steel, but it's all ok . (Posted on 18/10/2016) - 8/10 Would RecommendReview by Rick

I only have two minor niggles. Firstly the grip is very good although doesn't fit that snug and so there is a little wiggle room. This may be becuase they are designed to be interchangeable and I must say that I purchased this product from the Knight Shop in its component parts which could be the reason.
Secondly the cross-guard is not made of the same material as the blade and is made of a softer more flexible plastic. This personally has been no problem at all but I can see some potential for premature wear and tear if it takes a few good hits.
It's a very good piece of training equipment and comes highly recommended. For the price I can't see much better or many ways to improve upon it. (Posted on 03/02/2015)
