Mainstay of the Highland warriors of the late 15th and 16th centuries, the Claymore had a uniquely styled hilt that sets it apart from other great swords of the period. Typically of hand-and-a-half length, this versatile weapon could deliver great sweeping slashes or powerful thrusts. Replicated from a surviving museum piece our Claymore (SH2060) is classic in its design, with distinctive sloping quillons terminating in quatrefoils and a high-collared quillon block with langets following the blade fuller. The leather-covered grip is topped by a globate pommel.

- Pretty much the best you're gonna get at the price point.Review by Lee

The Hanwei Scottish Claymore really is an amazing looking sword and pretty good value for the price too. Not only is it functional but it also looks exactly how a Claymore should in my opinion. Nothing too fancy and details in all the right places.Quality Price Value
Being a greatsword, you are often very limited to what you can get at a budget price, but for just over £200 this is probably the best you'll find without ending up with some of the crappy super budget versions that usually look weird or have horrendous construction.
This version is the standard finish, it also comes in the antiqued finish for those who want a bit more style and are into the look, that does however limit the maintenance you can do to it. The blade is about butter knife sharp, however swords of this size generally wouldn't have been made with razor sharpness in mind, so that's totally fine.
The pommel is peened which is generally the best style of construction and the finish on it is reasonable. I did have an issue which I believed was the tang breaking but that really doesn't seem like the standard based on other reviews, I likely got a faulty version and the Knight's Shop were very quick to remedy that for me.
Overall this is a great purchase for those wanting a larger sword at a cheaper price point and specifically for Claymores this is likely the best cheaper one you'll find. (Posted on 13/03/2018)
