  • Viking Thane Axe

This Windlass hand axe features many traits common to the Norse hatchets we've come to love through the years. The solid, one-piece forged head is strong X46Cr13 high-grade stainless steel with a 52 RC. The comfortably contoured handle is Sissoo, a North Indian hardwood and it's capped with a handsome genuine bone butt cap. Even better are the Norse engravings unique to our axe that are deeply etched on both sides of the handle, and on the bone end cap is a depiction of Thor's mighty hammer, Mjolnir.

Includes leather belt sheath. Handy in size and gorgeous on display.
Comes in a faux fur lined box.

  • Red Dragon Combat - Temple Church Sword

    9 Review(s)

Our Temple Church sword is a replica of a sword found in the River Thames in London. The sword, forged in the period between 1300-1350, was discovered opposite Temple Church, the headquarters of the Knights Templar in England.

During the 14th century, the gardens of the Temple in London ran down to the river’s edge where this sword was discovered. The discovery location, coupled with the crosses in the pommel, suggests that it is a Templar knight’s sword thrown into the river when the Order of the Temple was dissolved by Edward II in 1314.

  • Danish Hand Axe

In the ranks of the Huscarls, the bodyguard of Scandinavian nobles and kings, axes of various sizes were a very popular weapon. The Huscarls often used the Danish axe with their left hand to attack the side of the enemy not protected by a shield. Pictures of the Danish axe can be found, for example, on the Bayeux Tapestry and date to the second half of the 11th century.

Smaller beard axes such as this Danish hand axe had evolved from Francisca and served the Huscarls primarily as devastating throwing axes, but were also used in close combat. A distinctive feature is the relatively long blade cutting, which tapers sharply towards the shaft. The blade encloses the shaft made of wood and is riveted to it. The shaft is largely straight but is widened at the lower end towards the blade, which improves the handling discreetly.

  • Sword of Robert the Bruce

    1 Review(s)

Robert the Bruce, King of Scots, was one of the most famous warriors of his generation. He eventually, alongside William Wallace, led Scotland during the first of the Wars of Scottish Independence against England. He fought successfully during his reign to regain Scotland's place as an independent nation and is today remembered in Scotland as a national hero.

This heroic sword is as powerful as the man who would have wielded it. The master craftsmen of Windlass Steelcrafts have hand forged this blade of high carbon steel. The beautiful pommel emblazons the Cross of St. Andrew, while the hearty grip is wrapped in soft, black leather and held in place by a corded silver chain. This massive sword comes complete with a matching, thick black leather scabbard and sports a silver Lion of Scotland at its throat and a rounded silver metal shoe at its tip. A 1-1/2” wide belt, measuring 56-1/2" long, is attached.

  • Swept Hilt Rapier

This Swept-Hilt Rapier features classical lines, with a high-carbon steel flex-tempered blade, a stainless steel hilt (for reduced maintenance) and a hardwood grip. The hilt is of the same size as the museum piece on which it is based, providing an authentic “feel” in the user’s hand and weight and balance also match originals. The blade is interchangeable with our “Practical” blade (OH2255) which is designed for safety in rapier sparring. The matching Main Gauche (SH2198) may also be equipped with a sparring blade.

Our Renaissance-style Rapiers trace their origins to early 17th century Europe, where swordplay with the Rapier was considered an essential part of a gentleman’s education and was often used in resolving gentlemanly disagreements. Blades generally originated in one of the blade making centers such as Toledo or Solingen, but many differences in styling and hilt materials resulted from the local manufacture of hilts all over Europe.

  • Classic Longsword

    1 Review(s)

The term "long sword" designates a sword that is longer than a one handed sword: approximately 37 cm or longer. A long sword was primarily wielded using two hands, but thanks to the comparatively light weight of this classic long sword, one handed techniques are also possible.

Its double-edged blade has three fullers, but the two outer ones only run the length of the ricasso. The ricasso itself is large enough for your second hand to reach over the crossguard with langet to grasp it. This hold significantly increases the pressure behind thrust techniques. The wooden grip is wrapped in leather, and both the pear-shaped pommel and the crossguard are made of steel. Our classic long sword comes with a leather scabbard with a mount and chape.

  • Cromwell Sword

Oliver Cromwell (1599 – 1658) was a powerful figure in English history during and after the English Civil War, when he rose from the rank of Captain of Horse to Lord Protector of England. His sword, said to have been carried at the battle of Drogheda in 1649, has been remarkably well preserved and is displayed in the permanent collection of the Royal Armouries in Leeds, England.

The Paul Chen Cromwell Sword is an accurate replica of the original “mortuary” hilt style and features a blackened guard decorated in a gold foliage pattern with a wire-wound sharkskin grip. As the original sword now lacks a scabbard , we have provided a design typical of the period. This piece of English history is a must for the ECW collector and re-enactor.
