Our Churburg Style Breastplate is based on the #13 Churburg Armour from the castle of Churburg (South Tyrol in the North of Italy). It belongs to the end of the 14th Century and was produced in an area that would eventually be famous for making the much prized Milanese Armour of the 15th Century.
It is constructed from articulated 16 gauge steel plates that are riveted to leather for durability and strength and features leather buckled straps at the back. This item is popular with reenactors and is great for re-enactment.
Length from neck to the end the piece is approximately 37cm.
Steel thickness may vary due to the handcrafted methods used in its manufacturing.
