The sgian dubh or Scottish black knife became fashionable in the mid-1700s. It is also called a Scottish sock knife because people carried them in their hose or boots. The Disarming Acts, enacted for the purpose of disarming Catholic rebels in their Scottish nests, prohibited Highlanders from owning or carrying weapons. They were forced to conceal the weapons they secretly kept.

This traditional sgian dubh features a black wooden grip with a basketweave pattern that is shaped for grasping, and comes with its own scabbard. The blade has the filework characteristic of Scottish edged weapons, and the hilt is decorated with a thistle motif.

The musket, though the prime weapon of the French Musketeers, was a cumbersome firearm, both to load and fire. A good rapier was a necessary second weapon. Our Musketeer rapier is fashioned after those circa 1590.

The basket hilt is ambidextrous and a very effective mix of both the cup-hilt and swept-hilt styles. The grip is wood wrapped with twisted wire and the parts of the hilt are plated with gleaming nickel silver.

Originally found at auction, Windlass Steelcrafts has lovingly recreated a beautiful 19th-century firefighter's axe - down to the blue paint of the sinuously curved hardwood shaft seen on the original. The high carbon steel head has a massive axe face and spike for breaching and prying. Not only functional, but this beauty can also be engraved on its wide surface and presented as a trophy to a firehouse or heroic firefighter.

This fine reproduction sabre is a faithful copy of the ones used during the American Civil War. The hand-forged blade is British military spec steel that will flex over 20° and return to true. The leather handle is wire wrapped. The brass, 3-branch guard is nicely hand chased and engraved, as is the brass pommel.

Blade is beautifully etched with “U.S.,” and “E Pluribus Unum,” along with foliage and military trophies. Steel scabbard has a brass throat, rings and drag. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts.

Thulsa Doom has lived for over a thousand years and has the power to transform into an enormous snake. This magnificent dagger is made to resemble two intertwining snakes. This dagger is nickel-plated with an antique finish and a wooden handle. The dagger comes with an antiqued wooden display box.

Romans used dull wooden swords to train their Gladiators and soldiers. And Japanese Samurai used a wooden training sword that was called a Bokken. It's an elegant solution to a vexing problem and effective enough to still be used today. The only problem is that a wooden sword can rot, crack, chip or splinter and eventually become useless.

Cold Steel designed a synthetic substitute, low in price and impervious to the elements. This replica is a reproduction of an article found in the Royal Armouries dated between 1300-1350. The sword is an Oakeshott Type XIV apparently found in a peat bog together with a sword which is now in the Oldeschalchi collection, Rome.
