Breastplates & Body Armour

Based on the S18 harness from the Churburg armoury, this piece is dated from the 15th century - although some specialists believe that it can be dated from 1370 to 1410. The original armour that this set is based on supposedly belonged to the Von Matsch family and is thought to be a Lombard work.

Our Pikeman’s Back and Breastplate is constructed from 18 gauge steel making it great for theatrical use and re-enactment (subject to the ruling of the ruling of the group’s safety officer). It features adjustable straps and detachable tassets. As with munition armour of the period, one size fits most.

This is a reproduction of German armour circa 1460 and 1500 with a corrugated and asymmetrical design. It is constructed from 18 gauge steel, and whilst that’s not ideal for re-enactment, it does make it lighter and more comfortable for LARP and theatrical use.

This item is not made to measure and therefore may require a final adjustment from the client for a perfect fit. Can be adjusted to 190cm tall and 48” chest.

Our Churburg Style Breastplate is based on the #13 Churburg Armour from the castle of Churburg (South Tyrol in the North of Italy). It belongs to the end of the 14^th Century and was produced in an area that would eventually be famous for making the much prized Milanese Armour of the 15^th Century.

It is constructed from articulated 16 gauge steel plates that are riveted to leather for durability and strength and features leather buckled straps at the back. This item is popular with reenactors and is great for re-enactment.
